The AutoSprite MCP (Model Context Protocol) server lets you generate game-ready spritesheets directly from your AI coding assistant. Create characters, generate animations, and export spritesheets without leaving your editor. MCP is supported by Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Cline, Zed, Claude Desktop, and Continue. ## Quick Setup Visit the [MCP Setup page](/mcp) and create an API key. Your key will start with `vspk_`. Add the AutoSprite MCP server to your editor's configuration. The config location varies by editor—see the [full setup guide](/mcp) for your specific editor. Ask your AI assistant to create characters and spritesheets. For example: *"Create a pixel art knight character with idle and walk animations"* ## Available Tools The MCP server provides 19 tools across 5 categories: ### Account - **get_account** - Check your credit balance before generating animations ### Characters - **list_characters** - List your AutoSprite characters with pagination and search - **get_character** - Get details for a specific character including spritesheets - **create_character** - Create a new character from a text prompt ### Spritesheets - **generate_spritesheet** - Generate animations and queue spritesheet export (returns usage info) - **regenerate_spritesheet** - Regenerate spritesheets at different sizes from existing videos (FREE) - **get_spritesheet** - Get spritesheet details and download URL - **list_spritesheets** - List all spritesheets for a character ### Jobs - **get_job_status** - Check status of a generation job (use `jobId` from list_jobs) - **list_jobs** - List recent jobs with filtering ### Assets - **list_assets** - List static assets (objects, props) - **get_asset** - Get asset details - **get_asset_spritesheet** - Get spritesheet for an asset - **generate_asset_preview** - Generate preview images for an asset - **create_asset** - Create a new static asset - **animate_asset** - Generate animation video for an asset - **generate_asset_spritesheet** - Generate spritesheet from asset animation - **generate_asset_3d_model** - Generate a 3D model from an asset image - **get_asset_job_status** - Check status of an asset generation job ## Example Workflows ### Create a Character with Animations ``` "Create a pixel art wizard character with purple robes, then generate idle, walk, and cast spell animations.
