Redbean is a no-code AI game creation platform that lets you build, share, and remix games on iOS. You can use your AutoSprite spritesheets directly in Redbean by sharing public links.
Quick Start
Generate Your Spritesheet
Create and generate your character animations in AutoSprite. Make sure you have at least one completed spritesheet.
Make the Spritesheet Public
In the Spritesheets tab, find the animation you want to use. Toggle the "Make Public" switch to enable sharing.
Copy the Public Links
Once public, you'll see two links:
- Sheet - The PNG spritesheet image URL
- Atlas - The JSON file with frame data and timing
Click the copy button next to each link.
Use in Redbean
In Redbean's AI game creator, paste your public spritesheet URL when prompting or importing custom sprites. The platform will load your character directly from the link.
Example prompt: "Create a platformer game using this character: [paste your Sheet URL]"
What Gets Shared
When you make a spritesheet public, AutoSprite generates permanent URLs:
| Link | Format | Contains |
|---|---|---|
| Sheet URL | PNG | All animation frames in a grid |
| Atlas URL | JSON | Frame positions, sizes, and timing data |
Public links are permanent and won't change. You can share them with teammates or use them across multiple projects.
Best Practices
Choose the Right Animations
For Redbean games, consider which animations you'll need:
- Idle - Essential for any character
- Walk/Run - For movement-based games
- Jump - For platformers
- Attack - For action games
Test Before Publishing
Preview your animations in AutoSprite before making them public. Once you're happy with the quality, toggle public sharing.
You can make individual spritesheets public - you don't need to share all of them. Only share the animations your Redbean game actually uses.
Troubleshooting
Links not working in Redbean?
- Make sure the "Make Public" toggle is still enabled
- Try copying the link again - ensure you're copying the full URL
- Check that your spritesheet finished generating (no loading spinner)
Wrong animation playing?
- Verify you copied the correct spritesheet link (idle vs walk vs run)
- Each animation type has its own public URL
